DJ WhySoSerious (aka Danice) has been officially DJing since her best friends’ wedding in 2010, but has been a music nerd her whole life. As an open-format DJ, WhySoSerious thrives when she can play and experiment with many genres, from classic 60s funk and soul, through 90s hip hop, and any fresh new tunes that make people want to move their bodies. She loves creating ideal soundtracks for all kinds of celebrations and occasions, whether it’s house parties, pride events, corporate gatherings, or “Home By Midnight,” the original Vancouver dance party for early risers, a party she’s been DJing since its inception in 2018. She also loves a wedding, especially whenever she gets to work alongside her officiant wife at Pride + Joy Ceremonies. When she’s not DJing, you can find Danice reading YA with a dram of whisky, watching women’s basketball with her wife, or going full auntie mode with her niblings.
